hiSoft is committed to creating a positive impact on society and prides itself in giving back to our community. For instance, on May 12th, 2008, when a 7.9-magnitude earthquake rocked Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, hiSoft was there. Right after the earthquake, hiSoft group reached out to our Chengdu team and once we learned they were ok – we went right to work. Luckily, there was no major damage to our office facilities and networks – so on May 13th, a meeting was held by the hiSoft executive team, including the hiSoft Chengdu local management team and all hiSoft functional heads where an initiative was unveiled to raise funds and clothing to help support employees. Additionally hiSoft group donated more than $100,000 RMB towards rebuilding the elementary school in Sichuan.
More recently, hiSoft has created a new initiative to give back to the community, called the Sunshine Project. The premise of the Sunshine Project is to help underprivileged children in China who do not have enough food and cannot afford to go to school. Our goal is to ensure no child goes hungry in China, and education is attainable for all.
