hiSoft and Sempla Join Together for an Unique Partnership in Italy

Beijing, China, September 13, 2009 - China's leading information technology outsourcing provider hiSoft Technology International., today announced its official partnership with Sempla, a premier Italian information technology consulting company. The two firms will work together to further expand a successful pilot of an onshore-offshore engagement model that brings both cost effectiveness and quality solutions to clients of both hiSoft and Sempla. The partnership was formed primarily to serve clients in the European market, focusing on Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, France and Germany.

The information technology and business process outsourcing industry has gone through significant transformation in the past ten years.  Clients are demanding greater alignment with their business, more innovation and faster turn- around times, yet they want all of those things at a lower cost than ever before.  Local industry and functional consulting experts are expensive, though they have the capacity to bring great value to their clients.  Information technology and business process outsourcing firms are cost effective and scalable, but they are quite removed from their clients both geographically and culturally.

Historically, only large global corporations with the processes and knowledge to drive the overall solution have been able to benefit from the incredible cost savings of outsourcing their software development and back office processing to China.  They are successful because they maintain dedicated teams to manage the outsourcing process.  By combining forces, the hiSoft – Sempla partnership brings the best of both worlds to smaller firms.

According to Tiak-koon Loh, CEO for hiSoft, “This partnership represents a consistent path for hiSoft to drive greater business value to our clients through innovation of the delivery model and specialized offerings.”  Indeed, this partnership marks a shift in the historical pattern of IT outsourcing firms to manage their own onshore delivery teams instead of working through partners.

Alfio Puglisi, Sempla CEO, says “European market and, in particular banking and insurance one, need global actors, able to guarantee quality, savings and knowledge of processes and compliancy rules. For this reason, the partnership is winning: a team of professionals with deep expertise able to support clients “locally” in addition to a great organization, with high level standards of  quality and strong delivery facilities”.
