Cheng-Yaw Sun
Cheng Yaw Sun is currently our Non-Executive Chairman, a role he served in from March of 2008 through August 2009 and returned to in August 2011. From August 2009 through July 2011, he served as Executive Chairman. He brings with him over 25 years of global market experience in industry-leading IT companies and has also served as an advisor to numerous technology companies.
Prior to joining hiSoft, Mr. Sun was the CEO of Hewlett-Packard in Greater China, having also served as Managing Director and Corporate Vice President of HP from 2002 to 2007. Mr. Sun joined Hewlett-Packard Taiwan in 1982 and has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Chung Yuan Christian University of Taiwan.
Jenny Lee
Ms. Lee is a Managing Partner at GGV Capital and is responsible for GGV's China investments and operations. Between 2002 and 2005, Ms. Lee served as Vice President at JAFCO Asia. From 2001 to 2002, she worked as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley and, prior to that, was Assistant Principal Engineer at the Singapore Technologies Aerospace Group.
Ms. Lee received her bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering degree from Cornell University. She also received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Loh Tiak Koon
With more than 20 years of experience leading high-growth IT companies, Mr. Loh brings extensive sophisticated service offering expertise to hiSoft's rapidly expanding technology outsourcing capabilities.
Before joining hiSoft, Mr. Loh was Corporate Vice President for Hewlett-Packard, responsible for expanding the China and Hong Kong integration, outsourcing, consulting, and technical service businesses. Among his significant previous positions, Mr. Loh served as the Managing Director for the Internet Capital Group and CEO for Vanda and Cap Gemini Asia-Pacific, as well as holding positions at IBM and Lotus Professional Services. Mr. Loh graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Venkatachalam (Venky) Krishnakumar
Mr. Krishnakumar is the current Chairman of the Board of Oracle Financial Software Services Singapore Pte. and currently also serves as a member of the board of Singapore Technologies Engineering. He has been an independent director on the hiSoft Board since May 2010.
Mr. Krishnakumar’s experience includes seats on the boards of various software service companies, including Singapore Computer Systems, Polaris Software Labs, and E-Serve International. Prior to that, Mr. Krishnakumar served for 31 years in various capacities at Citibank’s Indian, New York, and Singaporean offices. Since his retirement from Citibank in 2005, Mr. Krishnakumar has held senior advisory roles with McKinsey & Co., Barclays Global Retail Banking, and DBS Bank. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India, and completed his MBA at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
Terry McCarthy
Mr. McCarthy is an independent director and audit committee chairman. He previously was a director and CFO for Solarfun Power Holdings - a NASDAQ company, and was an independent director and audit committee chair of Agria Corporation - a NYSE company.
Before then, Mr. McCarthy was a partner for Deloitte and a member of their Chinese Services Group until his retirement in 2006.
He received a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a master's degree in taxation from Golden Gate University.
Dr. Pehong Chen
Dr. Chen was appointed as an Independent Director to the Board for hiSoft Technology International in June 2011. He has been the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Broadvision, Inc., a software applications company, since May 1993. Prior to founding Broadvision, Dr. Chen was Vice President of Multimedia Technology at Sybase, Inc., an enterprise software company, from 1992 to 1993. From 1989 to 1992, Dr. Chen founded and was president of Gain Technology, a multimedia software tools company, which was acquired by Sybase. Dr. Chen currently serves on the Board of Directors for SINA Corp. (NASDAQ: SINA) and Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT).
He received a B.S. in Computer Science from National Taiwan University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Davy Lau
Mr. Lau was appointed as an Independent Director to the Board for hiSoft Technology International in June 2011. He is currently managing his private direct investment companies, including DGL Group Inc., and Ocean Rich Group Limited. Until February 2011, he was a partner at Egon Zehnder International. Before Egon Zehnder, Mr. Lau served as GTECH’s general manager in Asia until February 1994. At GTECH, Mr. Lau successfully marketed and managed the on-going operations of various public gaming IT outsourcing projects in Asia. Prior to GTECH, Mr. Lau was vice president of Citigroup’s Information Business in Japan until June 1989. Mr. Lau started his career at Computervision Corporation in the early 1980s, selling and implementing numerous CAD/CAM systems in the Asia-Pacific region, including among which the first CAD/CAM systems ever installed in China.
Mr. Lau currently sits on the boards of several investee companies as well as non-profit organizations. He is the Vice Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore and a member of the Governance Committee of United World College Southeast Asia. Mr. Lau received a bachelor’s degree from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in 1979 and a master of economics degree from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo in 1981.
